Driving without distraction is fine to say but it’s in practice when most people fall short.  The C.A.R. pledge is meant to be a deliberate step that you as an individual can take to state emphatically, “I will not drive distracted.” 

If you are serious about making the roads safer you will not only sign this contract with yourself but you will also follow it to the letter, turning off your cell phone each time you drive (or simply ignoring it or pulling over to check it), and eliminating other distractions as well.  Below is a check list you can use to help yourself eliminate distractions.
