The Reynolds are a typical family who’s oldest daughter Cady, a high school sophomore, was killed in a car crash on May 31st of 2007 when another teen driver who was severely distracted ran through a red light.
In the months following, scenes of other crashes seemed to dominate the airwaves. In searching for a way to make Cady’s death more than just a statistic they decided to make a difference.
The C.A.R. Alliance for SafterTeenDriving was founded to bring together both parents and teen drivers to educate and teach them about the essential need for non-distracted driving and how this one change in behavior can make a difference in reducing the incidence of fatal crashes for drivers aged 15-19.
Losing a child to something as preventable as simply not paying attention to the task of driving is a terrible and senseless thing to endure. Please help support safer teen driving by joining our cause, donating to C.A.R. or at least reading the information on this site and taking it to heart.
Crashes are the #1 killer of teenaged drivers in the US, and they are almost always preventable. This is a reality that won't improve unless parents, teens and concerned adults are willing to work together to eliminate distractions and focus on safe driving.
